Kareena and saif to tie a knot

High-profile Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor may be getting married soon. And the confirmation has come from none other than Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore.

“I don’t have any objection to Saif and Kareena getting married and they will get married soon, Tagore, who was here for a meeting of the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), said on Sunday.

Tagore, who is the chairperson of the CBFC, was in Jodhpur to participate in the 120th censor board meeting. Asked about the much-anticipated wedding, she said, “We are very happy about their marriage. Kareena is an intelligent girl.”

Saifeena have been in the limelight ever since their affair became public and there has been speculation about when the duo would marry. Neither Saif nor Kareena has spoken about their marriage plans..

On the modernisation of the censor board, Tagore said, with time, it needed upgradation of basic facilities. Important decisions in regard to making the board computerised and modernised were taken in this meeting, she said.

Rajeev Arora, who represents Rajasthan in the censor board, said soon film certificates would be available online, which would provide relief to film producers. Computerisation of the board would be done prior to starting the online process.

Tagore said she was happy to be in Jodhpur, which she used to visit as a child. The 22 board members also visited the tourist spots of Jodhpur and did some shopping.

Kareena - Shahid Milenge Milenge on Feb 14

Producer Boney Kapoor comes up with a plan to release his long time pending film Milenge Milenge starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor on Valentine’s Day next year.

According to a source, “Boney, his director Satish Kaushik and other top executives clearly feel that no date is more suited to this film than Valentine’s Day. Even some distributors are in agreement.”

The trade sources think that Valentine’s Day is the best time to release the film, as youngsters will look for a love story on the day. The traders also believe that Jab We Met was successful because Shahid and Kareena split before the actual release of the film. “There is more magic to a screen couple that is not romantically involved in real life,” adds the source. So they are expecting the same benefit for Milenge Milenge. “So Milenge Milenge stands a good chance.”

Boney confirmed the news of releasing it in February but said that it has nothing to do with Valentine’s Day. “However, I’m not involved in all these release strategies that people are talking about. I have a team working on the release pattern. If it coincides with Valentine’s Day, then so be it,” said Boney.

He also hopes that Kareena and Shahid will act professionally and will do whatever is expected from them for the film.

Saif Obsessed with Kareena

When he got some time off from work, Saif Ali Khan immediately landed in Sydney to surprise girlfriend Kareena Kapoor who was shooting for Karan Johar’s Stepmom. Currently the actress is in Sydney, for shooting Karan’s next Step Mom along with Kajol. But a source close to her says that the only thing which was on her mind till she boarded the flight was how her family will react to the intimate scene from Kurbaan.

Kareena Salutes 26/11 Heros

Kareena Kapoor joins the initiative started by Radio Mirchi about remembering and saluting the heroes of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The actress was recently on Radio Mirchi's program Sunset Samosa along with RJ Suren and talked about the initiative as well as her upcoming film Kurbaan. The stunning actress who visited the radio station after six years asked people to name those people who helped them during the 26/11 crisis. Meanwhile, Radio Mirchi has arranged special screening of Kurbaan to those nominees, where lead stars of the film Kareena and Saif Ali Kahan will also be present.

Kurbaan, a production by Karan Johar and direction by first time director Rensil D’Silva also talks about terrorism. Talking about her role inthe film, Kareena said, “I think this is one of my best roles after Jab We Met, so I am very excited about it. Karan came up with ‘Some love stories have blood on them’ because the film is very intense; blood here refers to the pain.”

The memories of the attack are horrifying, but it also reminds us the bravery and humanity of our commandos, Mumbai police and firemen. It showed us that humanity still wins. So to honour those heroes, Radio Mirchi comes forward with the unique idea.

Meanwhile Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan starrer Kurbaan is set to release on November 20. The film also stars Dia Mirza, Vivek Oberoi, Om Puri and Kirron Kher. Music by Salim-Suleiman is already making buzz, particularly the Shukran Allah is climbing on the music charts. However ‘Rasiya’ is the favourite of the music director. “Rasiya, as it is has dark undertones and really sets the mood for the images it accompanies inthe film.” Well which is Kareena’s favourite? “The lyrics of all the songs are beautiful. Ali Maula is a very gripping song; the film comes to life in this song,” says Bebo.

Kareena and Abhishek to star in Abbas Mustan's next

Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor who were last seen together in 2003 in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon might come together for Abbas Mustan’s next film. The film is not titled yet but is the remake of Italian Job (2003).

Currently the director duo is working on the script but they already have the actors on their mind. Despite Abhishek and Kareena, the cast ofthe film will also include Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif. If all goes well, we will be seeing two leading ladies of Bollywood in one film as well as Abhishek and Kareena together after six years.

Revealing about the film, one source said, “Initially talks were on with Saif Ali Khan, but the actor did not have dates, and was replaced with Jr. Bachchan. Although Saifeena’s chemistry would have sizzled onscreen, it would be nice to watch Abhishek and Kareena after their last movie Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon in 2003. Both the actors made their debut together in Refugee and have been in the industry for years but have only featured in two films till today.”

However a source close to the directors said, “The directors always had Kareena in mind. They have managed to rope in Katrina too. After a long time, one will see two top actresses’ of Bollywood in the same film. The movie will go on floors in April and like every Abbas-Mustan’s film, this flick will also be shot lavishly on a big budget at international locations. Although the director-duo is in the scripting process, they are clear about the cast of their film.”

Studio 18 holds the rights of the film The Italian Job (2003). Sandeep Bhargava, CEO of the studio said, “We have the 2003 rights of The Italian Job. Abbas-Mustan is in the scripting process and are going to directthe film. They are the line producers and The Indian Film Company is the presenter. The movie will go on floors sometime next year.”

Is the star cast finalised? “The directors are still working on the script and until the script isn’t ready we can’t approach any actors,” he said.

However when asked to Zahid, manager of Bebo, he replied, “She has not signed the movie.”

Kareena - Shahrukh star in super hero film

They last appeared together in 2001 in Santosh Sivan’s Asoka. Thing become bitter between them later as Kareena Kapoor denied acting in Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Na Ho starring Shah Rukh Khan demanding more money. However she later appeared in item numbers along with the King Khan in Don and Billu showing her reformed union with him. There had been talks many times that Kareena will play a lead opposite Shah Rukh in his home production Ra. But it’s just confirmed that she is in the project which is a superhero kind.

In the film we will see her doing some stunts that she never did and also Shah Rukh flying from sky to save people. Shooting for the film will take off in December. The film will be shot mainly in US and Mumbai.

Kareena - Shahid no more work for Milenge Milenge

Producer Boney Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik trying to complete their five year pending project Milenge Milenge. And now as they have recorded two new songs for the film, the lead pair of the film Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor is not willing to work together any more after their much publicized break up. The songs are composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

A source close to Bebo said, “Kareena is more than happy to extend all cooperation to producer Boney Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik, but she won’t shoot an extra songs for the film. Shahid is a closed chapter.”

Will the actors come together for film’s promotion? Kareena, Shahid will not come together for the film’s publicity. Meanwhile a music video on song recorded by Himesh was planed to promote the film, but as the actors have refused to work jointly the filmmakers will use the footage.

Satish Kaushik, director of the film said, “Neither Shahid nor Kareena will shoot any more for the film. We’ll use the footage that we have for the two songs in the beginning and end-titles and for the promotional video.”

Kareena: Salman has a gold heart

Many people in the industry often talk about Salman Khan’s big heart and generosity. However this time the lovely Kareena Kapoor has all praises for him.

Kareena experienced the kindness of her co-star during the shooting schedule of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna in Melbourne. Both the actors are friends and were always seen cracking jokes and laughing on the sets of the film. During their stay in Melbourne, Bebo used to go for shopping when shooting for the day is done. One day when she went for shopping, Salman accompanied her. Kareena Kapoor’s zero size figure inspired an international pizza chain to think of a size zero pizza. Till five days ago Kareena was out of country. However she came to know about the news when sister Karisma Kapoor called to tell about the new pizza which her friends are talking about. Cheese has the right fat percentage required for the body and if eaten right, it can be advantageous rather than detrimental.”

It may be recalled that Milenge Milenge, directed by Satish Kaushik, has been in the making since 2004. It failed to see the light of day in spite of several attempts to release it in the subsequent years due to financial and casting problem.

Kareena was born to Sindhi-speaking Babita (nee Shivdasani) and Punjabi-speaking Randhir Kapoor on September 21, 1977 in Bombay, India. She has an elder sister, Karisma.

She is born in a family that have been actors for generations, including her paternal great-grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor; her grandfather, Raj Kapoor; her paternal uncles, Shammi, Shashi, Rishi, and Rajiv; as well as aunt, Neetu Singh, & Jennifer Kendall, the wives of Rishi and Shashi respectively. On her maternal side, her grandfather, Hari Shivdasani, and aunt, Sadhana, have been actors in their own rights.
