Kareena Loses Madhubala's role because of Ranbir

Kareena Kapoor had landed a dream role, though it’s not with her anymore, thanks to cousin Ranbir Kapoor. The actress had apparently been cast to play Madhubala in the Kishore Kumar biopic. But now since Ranbir is playing the singer-actor-filmmaker, the two cannot be paired romantically. Now, the producers, UTV, and the director, Anurag Basu have begun to brainstorm over who to cast opposite RK.

According to a source in the production house, UTV had considered Kareena when Shoojit Sircar was expected to direct the movie. The company, that shares a great rapport with Aamir Khan who played the lead in their blockbuster, Rang De Basanti, had initiated talks with Khan on the biopic about two years ago.

Shahid Hits out at Bebo(Kareena)

Lover boy Shahid Kapoor has finally spoken. It has been almost two and a half years that Shahid and Kareena Kapoor have broken up. Sorry it has been two and a half years that Shahid was dumped by Kareena. But it seems that his wrath is finally getting unleashed. He has hit out at Kareena straight away in a show hosted by Karan Johar on national television.

In fact it was nothing all Karan did was to disclose that Shahid is looking relaxed and is more focused on his work. To Karan’s and our utter dismay the lover boy was heard saying “In the last two and a half years, I have done a lot of work which I wanted to do and enjoyed it. In the past I did what I was told to do.” It was rumored that both Kareena and Shahid had a control on each other’s careers but according to him now it has changed.

Changed or not we do not know this. That only time will tell. Another thing that he specified was “I want to clarify that I am not dating Priyanka Chopra or anybody else.” He further added “I am very much singleYour browser may not support display of this image. , available and definitely ready to mingle.” Those were his words now let us wait for Kareena’s reaction.

Recently, at the birthday revelry of Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar the guests to be very much in high spirits appeared to be Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Even though many film stars find the small screen an equally lucrative medium, actress Kareena Kapoor has turned down a television offer to concentrate on her films.

Kareena was recently offered a television show solely based on her - titled Main Kareena Kapoor Banna Chahti Hoon for a whopping amount. However due to prior movie and brand commitments kapoor had to decline the flattering offer.

According to sources close to the actress, the show involved Kapoor interacting with contestants the nation over with big Bollywood dreams.However, Kapoor is not ruling out her debut on television. 

"Television is an option that I definitely find exciting, but I would much rather concentrate on one thing now. So it is films for the moment," says Kapoor.

Talking about her decision to turn down the offer, sources said, "Kapoor has just started filming for Ra1 with SRK. She then has her hands full with Golmaal 3, Agent Vinod with Saif Ali Khan and an untitled film with Madhur Bhandarkar.

Sources said that the actress also has a plethora of brand endorsements in her kitty.

Kareena Kapoor has become the highest taxpayer among all actresses in Bollywood, a source said today.

While what she paid has not been disclosed, it has been said that the 29-year-old coughed up a staggering amount to the income tax department.

"Kareena is a style icon and powerhouse performer. She is distinctive and has a loyal base fan which only seems to be growing. Her increasing body of work as a star and popularity with brands reflects in the taxes she's paid for 2009-10," said a source.

Last year, Kareena was seen in films like "Main Aurr Mrs Khanna", "Kurbaan" and "3 Idiots".

Kareena and Shahid will Promote 'Milenge Milenge' but not together

Mumbai, March 15 – Plans to bring Kareena Kapoor and ex-beau Shahid Kapoor together to promote their film ‘Milenge Milenge’ have been called off. While Shahid had no problems with the idea, producer Boney Kapoor feels the publicity would be doubled if the stars do the promotions individually.

Asked if he’d be willing to promote the film jointly with Kareena, Shahid said: ‘Yes, I’ll do everything I can to promote it. Of course, I’ll do everything in my power to see the film gets properly released. It’s my film.’

However, Boney Kapoor felt otherwise.

‘We’re getting Shahid and Kareena to do separate promotional activities. That way we give them space to be comfortable with the situation and also we get twice the publicity for ‘Milenge Milenge’ that we would if the pair promoted the film jointly,’ the producer said.

‘Milenge Milenge’ is special because the former couple will be seen together after Imtiaz Ali’s lovable ‘Jab We Met’ in 2007. Kareena is currently dating actor Saif Ali Khan.

Shahid has not only decided to go all-out for ‘Milenge Milenge’, he has also been taking interest in the release date to ensure that it hits screens at a time when it is likely to get the best audience.

He met the producer and they mutually agreed to postpone the release from April to later in the year.

‘We met and took a joint decision. Boney-ji was co-operative. Otherwise I’d have had three releases -’Milenge Milenge’, ‘Paathshala’ and ‘Badmaash Company’ – in one month,’ said Shahid.

Boney said he plans to release the film, which has been directed by Satish Kaushik, in the last week of June or the first week of July.

”Milenge Milenge’ would be Shahid’s last release until his father’s film ‘Mausam’. Kareena and he look gorgeous together,’ he said.

In fact Shahid enthusiasm about ‘Milenge Milenge’ is seconded by Satish Kaushik. Last week, they met on the steps of the highrise apartment building they share.

Said Kaushik: ‘Though we live in the same building, Shahid and I never meet! I know him from the time he was a child. On Saturday night we bumped into each other in our highrise compound after a party. We spoke for nearly an hour about ‘Milenge Milenge’.

‘Shahid told me the project is very dear to him and that he would go all out to promote the film.’
